International Lions Youth Camp WL / South-Westfalia and Westerwald 2025

We will explore the beautiful cities of Cologne, Bonn, and Koblenz along the Rhine River! You’ll also discover the nature and culture of South-Westphalia and the Westerwald. Highlights include the Cologne Cathedral, Phantasialand theme park, the German Aerospace Centre, Eltz Castle, and a boat trip along the Rhine.

Your camp stay will be at the Freusburg Youth Hostel near Siegen, an old castle offering a mix of medieval history and modern comfort. Most travel will be by public transportation, so participants will need to buy the Deutschland-Ticket (58€/month in 2025). We’ll help you with instructions for purchasing the ticket a few weeks before the camp. The ticket is valid for the whole of July, which is perfect if you arrive early or stay later!

Before the camp, you’ll need to prepare a 15-minute presentation about your home country and culture. This is a great chance to share your story with fellow campers and learn about others. Host families come from the South-Westphalia and Westerwald areas, giving you a true taste of local life.

Get ready for an unforgettable experience filled with adventure, culture, and new friendships!
